Building Your Digital Space 🌲

In MononoMori, your living space is represented as a “Woodland”. Each woodland corresponds to a real-world space, such as your home, office, or a specific room.

Creating your first woodland marks the beginning of your organization journey.

Concept: Space and Location 🗺️

Before we start, let’s understand two key concepts:

  1. Space (Woodland): Use this for large areas.
    • Example: Home, Office, Dormitory, My Room
  2. Location (Tree): Use this for specific storage places within a Space.
    • Example: Bookshelf, Desk Drawer, Closet, Refrigerator

Step 1: Create a Space (Woodland) 🏡

On the first launch, you might see an empty screen. Let’s create your first “Home”.

  1. Tap the ”+” button at the bottom center of the screen.
  2. Select “New Space”.
  3. Name: Enter a name like “My Home” or “Living Room”.
  4. Icon: Choose an icon that matches the atmosphere (e.g., 🏠 🛋️).
  5. Tap “Create”.

Success! A new green circle (Space) has appeared on your screen.

Step 2: Plant a Location (Tree) 🌳

Next, let’s create a specific storage spot inside that Space.

  1. Tap the “Space” you just created to enter it.
  2. Tap the ”+” button again.
  3. This time, select “New Location”.
  4. Name: Enter a specific storage name like “Bookshelf” or “Desk”.
  5. Parent Location: Ensure the current Space is selected.
  6. Tap “Create”.

You have planted your first tree! This is where you will store your items.

Layout Modes 🎨

MononoMori offers two ways to view your world:

1. Forest Map (Map View)

  • A visual layout where Spaces and Locations are scattered like a map.
  • You can freely move them around (Gardening Mode).
  • Perfect for grasping the overall picture intuitively.

2. List View

  • A standard list format.
  • Convenient for quickly finding names or checking details.
  • Toggle between modes using the switch button at the top right.

Tips for Success 💡

  • Start Small: Don’t try to register your entire house at once. Start with a single “Desk” or “Bag”.
  • Use Emojis: Adding emojis to names (e.g., “Fridge ❄️”) makes it visually fun and easier to find.
  • Hierarchy: You can create locations within locations (e.g., Living Room > Shelf > Top Drawer).

Now that the container is ready, let’s put your first “Item” into it! 📦
